Small Brand, big dream

Made in Japan. Slow tea. A quiet ritual.

Years ago, we took our first steps into the world of matcha, launching our very first business and traveling to Japan to truly understand the tea ritual at its roots. From serene ceremonies in Kyoto to testing matcha with small-scale farmers, we fell in love with the craft, the culture, and the care behind every leaf. That deep connection is now at the heart of Namacha.

Since 2019, we’ve been passionately dedicated to finding the highest quality matcha. What began as Matcha Hana evolved into a lifelong love for Japanese tea culture. At the time, matcha was still relatively unknown, and after a promising start, we had to close our first webshop.

In the years that followed, I founded Areum Korean Bakery, where I blended my love for baking with my Asian roots, creating playful, colorful cookies with character. But matcha was never far from heart or mind.

Now, we return to where it all began with Namacha, a fresh beginning with a clear mission: to share pure, honest matcha, sourced directly from small, family-run tea farms in Japan.

Namacha is rooted in calm, care, and craftsmanship. Every cup reflects our respect for tradition and our dream to bring moments of stillness to a busy world. We focus on first-harvest, single-origin matcha and perfect blends, stone-ground and shade-grown, cultivated with patience and tradition.

We’re an Asian small business, based in the Netherlands, but built on big passion and we’re honored to share them with you.

Our Commitments

SMALL JAPANESE FARMS

What began as a personal journey to Japan grew into a commitment to share honest, high-quality matcha. Today, we work closely with small Japanese farms to bring that same purity and tradition to every cup.

Quality & Care

From harvest to packaging, every step of the process is done with intention. We handle our matcha with the same care we expect you to enjoy it with, whether you're sipping at home or serving in your café.

Only fresh matcha

We source our matcha in small batches and store it under ideal conditions to preserve its vibrant color, aroma, and nutrients. You’ll always receive matcha that’s fresh and never stale.

How It All Started

2019 - Our first trip to Japan

first matcha business

Namacha began with a desire to find calm in a busy world.

The power of the matcha ritual, a moment of presence, simplicity, and connection. After countless taste testings, we found the perfect matcha to share.

With Namacha, we invite you to bring the ritual of matcha into your own time and space.

One cup at a time, made with care, love, and deep respect for Japanese tradition.

"Smooth, Jade green, Grounding. We are not just selling matcha, but bringing our love for Japan back in every sip."
